Rock Climbing Rock climbing in the United States and around the
world is a very popular pastime. Many people who enjoy nature and
hiking, also rock climb. Climbing a rock or cliff face takes time
and patience. There are also lots of safety measures that are taken
very seriously. Some people have fallen and injured themselves.
Strong rope, proper shoes, and other equipment such as rappel and
belays are essential for rope climbing.
Most people, when starting out, practice on a rock climbing wall. These walls are in parks and gyms. They are only ten to twelve feet tall, but have jagged crevices and are supposed simulate real rock climbing conditions. People practice knot tying and suspending their bodies with the rope. They get over their fear of heights and have a great time with friends and family. It is also great exercise by working leg muscles, arm muscles, and stomach muscles. It is also a great cardio workout which is why it is very popular at gyms and other workout places across the country. There are instructors on hand to help and give advice. These walls are fun for people off al ages. Even if one does not want to rock climb, the wall is safe and is as realistic as possible. There are many places to climb. Popular places in Colorado and Arizona. But many states have parks where rock climbing is allowed. There are a few rules on e should remember before climbing. Don�t climb alone. Never climb too high. And don�t climb where warning signs are posted. These signs are there for a reason. People have injured themselves at those spots or a rock slide has caused the rock face to become unstable. Safely should always be the first priority when rock climbing. Climb safely and have fun enjoying the outdoors. |
